OpenAI appears to be developing new business analytics tools for ChatGPT, designed to help companies monitor how often their brands are mentioned in AI-generated responses and how many clicks those mentions generate.
The development was highlighted by entrepreneur Juozas Kaziukėnas, who shared screenshots on LinkedIn showing an early beta version of the feature. According to his observations, the functionality is part of a broader Business Hub experience and is intended for businesses that have verified ownership of their business.

This development could represent an important step towards dedicated AI Visibility measurement and performance analytics for businesses.
The Growing Importance of AI Search as a Marketing Channel
The growing importance of AI analytics becomes easier to understand when we look at the scale of AI platform adoption.
According to StatCounter GlobalStats, in September 2026, ChatGPT accounted for 80.48% of the worldwide AI chatbot market share measured through chatbot-related web referrals, followed by Google Gemini (10.91%) and Perplexity (5.85%). These figures reflect tracked referral activity, not the total number of chatbot users or the overall search market.
Furthermore, according to Semrush, ChatGPT ranked fourth among the world’s most visited websites in August 2026, generating approximately 6.58 billion visits, behind Google, YouTube and Facebook.
These figures illustrate why AI platforms are becoming increasingly relevant communication, discovery and marketing channels for businesses. As consumer search behaviour evolves, the ability to measure organic brand visibility, recommendations and referral traffic within AI platforms will become increasingly important.
A Broader Perspective: From AI Visibility to Business Performance
This is also a direction I highlighted in a recent discussion on Gaetano Romeo’s LinkedIn post, where I commented:
Visibility in the initial answer is only part of the picture. Consistency across follow-up prompts and more specific evaluation criteria will become increasingly important. This also reinforces why brand authority, entity consistency and credible third-party sources matter in AI Search.
I also believe AI platforms should eventually provide marketers/brands with tools similar to Meta Business Suite, offering more comprehensive visibility, performance tracking and analytics. I expect this to evolve as these platforms develop and consumer search behaviour shifts even further towards AI.
At the moment, we’re mostly seeing the advertising side emerging, with tools such as ChatGPT Ads Manager, but there’s still a gap when it comes to measuring and managing organic AI visibility.
The real challenge is not just getting recommended, but remaining relevant throughout the buyer’s decision-making journey.

The emerging ChatGPT analytics capabilities could be an early step towards addressing this gap
What Will ChatGPT’s New AI Visibility Analytics Measure?
Based on the information shared by Juozas Kaziukėnas, the feature is designed to track two main performance indicators:
- Impressions: How many times a business appears in ChatGPT responses.
- Clicks: How many times users click links leading to the business’s website from ChatGPT responses.
The tool reportedly tracks these events daily and displays the results in a chart, allowing businesses to monitor changes in their visibility and website traffic over time.
However, there are some important limitations.
The beta functionality does not reveal the prompts behind these interactions, individual user data, competitive benchmarks or rankings. Therefore, businesses may be able to see whether their mentions and clicks are increasing or decreasing, but not necessarily understand why these changes are happening.
Nevertheless, first-party performance data directly from an AI platform could become a valuable addition to the existing AI Search measurement ecosystem.

Why AI Visibility Analytics Matters for AEO and GEO
AI platforms are becoming new communication and marketing channels.
Although AI Search works differently from traditional search engines and social media platforms, businesses increasingly need ways to monitor, understand and manage their presence across these environments.
We have already seen a similar evolution in SEO and Social Media marketing, where tools such as Google Search Console and Meta Business Suite provide businesses with centralized account management, performance monitoring and analytics.
AI platforms may eventually develop their own equivalent business ecosystems, offering dedicated tools for organic AI visibility, brand mentions, website traffic and marketing performance.
This is an evolution I anticipated in a recent discussion about the future of AI Search analytics.
The emergence of ChatGPT’s potential Business Hub features suggests that AI platforms are beginning to address an important gap: businesses need more than advertising solutions. They also need ways to measure their organic visibility and understand how AI-generated recommendations contribute to their digital presence.
AI Visibility Measurement: Impressions and Clicks Are Only Part of the Picture
While tracking impressions and clicks is an important step, these metrics alone cannot provide a complete picture of a brand’s AI visibility.
A more comprehensive AI Visibility measurement strategy should also consider:
- Brand mentions and recommendations: How frequently a brand appears in relevant AI-generated responses.
- Prompt coverage: The queries and search intents for which a brand becomes visible.
- Recommendation consistency: Whether a brand remains relevant across follow-up prompts and more specific evaluation criteria.
- Source and citation analysis: Which websites, articles, professional profiles and third-party sources support AI-generated brand recommendations.
- Entity consistency: Whether AI platforms receive clear and consistent information about a brand’s identity, expertise and services.
- Website referrals and engagement: Whether AI visibility translates into website visits and meaningful user actions.
This distinction is particularly important for AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization).
A brand appearing in an initial AI-generated answer is only one part of the process. Remaining relevant throughout follow-up questions and different stages of the buyer’s decision-making journey is equally important.
Combining first-party analytics from AI platforms with external prompt monitoring, source analysis and brand visibility tracking could provide a much more complete understanding of whether an AEO or GEO strategy is working.
What Comes Next for ChatGPT Business Hub and Other AI Platforms?
For now, the functionality observed by Juozas Kaziukėnas remains in testing. OpenAI has not yet announced a full public launch of these specific analytics capabilities.
Several questions remain:
- When will OpenAI officially launch the new business analytics features?
- What additional measurement and reporting capabilities will the final Business Hub include?
- Will businesses be able to access more detailed organic AI visibility insights?
- Will other AI platforms, including Google Gemini, Perplexity and Claude, introduce comparable business analytics tools?
As AI Search continues to influence how people discover brands, research products and evaluate services, dedicated analytics will become increasingly important for businesses and digital marketers.
The next stage of AI Search marketing will not be only about getting a brand mentioned or recommended. It will also be about understanding the visibility it generates, measuring its impact and connecting AI presence with actual business performance.
AI platforms are becoming new marketing channels. The tools to measure and manage organic visibility within them are the next logical development.
A little note for OpenAI: If you’re reading this, I’d be happy to test the beta! 😉
